How to check imported coolers?
15 Jan,2025
The imported cooler is a key component in compressed air systems, which can cool the high-temperature compressed air generated by the air compressor and remove a large amount of moisture from the compressed air. This product comes in two series: air-cooled and water-cooled. The air-cooled type is easy to install and has low operating costs, making it suitable for areas with limited water resources; while the water-cooled type is compact, has high cooling efficiency, and can be used in high-temperature, high-humidity, and dusty environments.
How to check the imported cooler?
1. Strengthening technology
Various new and efficient coolers are gradually replacing existing conventional products. Research and development in power effect enhancement heat transfer technology for power plants, additive-enhanced boiling heat transfer technology, inert gas introduction heat transfer enhancement technology, droplet condensation technology, microbial heat transfer technology, magnetic field dynamic heat transfer technology, and nanofluid heat transfer technology have all created favorable conditions for the successful upgrade of coolers.
2. Anti-scaling technology
With the deepening of research on scaling mechanisms, methods to prevent scaling in coolers have also made progress. Techniques such as using surface coatings or special surface shapes, inserting springs or cleaning balls for online descaling, ultrasonic descaling, and changing flow paths after using descaling agents have all achieved industrial application.
3. Anti-vibration technology
In traditional shell-and-tube coolers, due to the cross-flow state of the fluid, the transverse scouring of the heat exchange tube bundle, and the periodic variation of the Karman vortex street formed behind the tubes, the tubes experience vortex-induced vibrations, which often lead to damage and failure of the cooler. In this case, longitudinal flow shell coolers have emerged, with the baffle cooler being a typical representative.
4. Anti-corrosion technology
In recent years, significant achievements have been made in the research and design of anti-corrosion technologies for plate coolers in various countries, such as the development of anodic protection technology and the application of new anti-corrosion materials, which have brought infinite vitality to the development of coolers. Additionally, the application of non-metallic materials has greatly improved the corrosion resistance of coolers.
The arrangement of the tubes of the imported cooler on the tube sheet not only considers the compactness of the equipment but also takes into account the properties of the fluid, structural design, and manufacturing aspects.
1. Regular triangular and corner regular triangular arrangements are suitable for clean shell-side media and do not require mechanical cleaning.
2. Square and corner square arrangements can form a straight channel with small bridges between the tubes, facilitating mechanical cleaning, and are generally used in situations where the tube bundle can be withdrawn for cleaning.
